The bridge Aorsa was built to connect your world to mine. We do things a little differently here. Please remove your shoes before entering my subconscious and don't leave any dirt behind. Then, by all means, enjoy your stay. And if, at any point, you should find yourself out of your element, it is likely to be for the better.
I'd like to introduce you to some of my closest friends: Rose, Ana, and Latin.
"Blue Rose" is Rose's story. She is a suburban girl dealing with two halves of herself. One half is fairly normal. It has a unique sense of fashion, a peppy attitude, and a whizzing mind. The other half is depressed. It's name is Cheshire and it has a few tricks up it's sleeve. "Blue Rose" was originally written by my good friend Hannah. She wrote it all out in handwriting, spending three years on the manuscript, then burned the whole of it. We friends of her's have been pressing her to rewrite the gut-wrenchingly perfect story for a while now and she wouldn't. But, after a few tricks and a lot of questions, I managed to get her to agree to a collaboration piece. You can read the story-in-progress here.
"The Science of Hiding Things" is Ana's story. She is an ocean girl who is found in a serious coma that lasts too long. She wakes up with no memory aside from a few snippets. She goes about her rehabilitation, learning to walk and talk and feed herself. But rehabilitating her mind is costly and requires an in-depth look at the science of hiding things, specifically hiding things from yourself. The idea for "The Science of Hiding Things" slowly developed in my brain while I was watching a documentary about orcas. I'm not sure what deranged part of my brain came up with this story, but it's been haunting me for a while now, and I'm going to get it on paper if it's all I can do. This piece is extremely challenging because of the way that it needs to bend time and balance what the reader and characters know and don't know. But I'm slowly figuring out how to write this one. You can read the story-in-progress here.
Latin is a crested serpent with a bolt of light coming out of his head. He has one wing, and one arm. You'll see him around, but he won't talk much.
There are plenty of other things to tell you about this place, but I think it's more beneficial to let you drown for a moment. If you really can't keep your head above water, my e-mail is Jackalope555@outlook.com.
Cross the bridge Aorsa carefully, it's missing a few boards.
